Bruce Power

Visitor’s centre/museum

Objective

Bruce Power Visitor’s Centre acts as an information centre for the general public to come and learn about nuclear energy, the use of power, and impacts that various power sources have on both our environment around us, and our way of life. It had been several years since Bruce Power had updated their visitor’s centre, and through a tender process, Stevens E3 was commissioned to design and build new exhibits for the centre that would help to educate the public. The exhibits would have to withstand long-term use, and would be subjected to children quite young in age, to adults. Stevens E3 was to design exhibits to be interactive, informative, durable, and interesting. This ongoing project has included the design and development of almost 20 museum exhibits.

Solution

Stevens E3 initially presented designs for approximately a half-dozen exhibits within the visitors centre that were designed with a new, modern look and feel, and was able to capture the client’s vision as to what they wanted to portray in their outreach program. Stevens continues to work with Bruce Power to bring public awareness and educational content to visitors to this nuclear facility.
